Dignified nudity is virtuous. Olympia’s American debut is a reminder that agency causes public outrage—not nudity. It is s also a testament that career defining moments are not always by mass approval. On Friday, January 5th, Kravets Wehby Gallery will open Nudity is not Radical!, an exhibition of young artists claiming autonomy through their disciplines.

Humans have consistently been subjected to fixation throughout art history. For artists, to reproduce a person is impossible. However, to portray the body is to study and interpret anatomy. Contemporary representations of bodies involve so much more than flesh, blood, and forbidden nipples.

Many of the young artists participating in Nudity is not Radical!  have had images of their artwork removed from social media. Artists depend on sharing their practice for feedback and visibility.
